Steamdrying

Steamdrying

With this method of drying, the air present is replaced by saturated steam. By filling the chamber completely with this produces steam and letting the temperautre rise above 100°C, the free water in the wood will boil. This creates an effect that creates a slight overpressure in the wood. This accelerates the drying process by approx. 50%, because it promotes the transport of moisture form the core to the surface of the wood.
