Heat treatment of pallets and packaging wood

ISPM 15

Following the ISPM 15 measurements, we build our dry kilns in accordance with the specific requirements of the pallet and packaging industry, namely the SMHV (Stichting Markering Houten Verpakkingen).

The ISPM 15 (International Standarts for Phytosanitary Measures) measure includes, among other things, requirements for the treatment of wooden packaging to prevent the spread of live pests.

For a minimum of 30 minutes, the wooden packaging/pallet must undergo a heat treatment maintaining a temperature of 56°C in the core of the wood. It is also recommended that only debarked wood is used for pallets/wooden packaging.
